Why is the sky blue at noon but red at dusk?

Sunlight looks white, but it's every colour travelling together. On its way down it keeps bumping into air molecules, and they don't treat every colour the same.
My bet: Blue
You called it. Air scatters short wavelengths far more than long ones. Blue scatters about five times more than red, so at noon it gets sprayed across the whole sky and reaches you from every direction.
Wait, then why is sunset red and not even bluer?
Because at dusk the light takes the long way. Near the horizon, sunlight crosses up to 40 times more air than at noon.
