What Curio keeps, and why
Last updated September 2026
This is the plain-language version of how Curio handles your data during early access. It is written for learners, not lawyers.
Your phone number
- We use your mobile number only to sign you in with a one-time code. There are no passwords.
- The number is encrypted at rest and stored as a hash for lookup. Screens only ever show a masked version.
- Sign-in codes are stored hashed and the request records are deleted after 24 hours.
Your expeditions
- We keep your transcripts, expedition logs and progress so you can pick up where you left off.
- Curio's tutor runs on an AI model hosted outside India. It receives your first name and what you type in an expedition, never your phone number.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from Settings at any time. It is hidden immediately and permanently erased 30 days later, including every transcript.
